http://www.endometriosis-consultant.co.uk/ The video features a young patient with severe (stage 4) rectovaginal endometriosis with extensive adhesions on the reproductive organs. The patient suffers from chronic pelvic and bowel pain. In addition, this patient is infertile and seeks fertility.

This video demonstrates the technique of excision (peeling) of endometriois form the surface of the ureters (tubes carrying urine to the bladder), large bowel and other pelvic organs.

To prevent the formation of adhesions and to correct the anatomy of the tilted uterus, a ventrosuspension is undertaken at the end of the operation. Finally blue dye is used to check if the fallopian tubes are open to accept eggs.

This type operation can last upto 8 hours (duration depends on the severity of the endometriosis). Mr Trehan undertakes all major gynaecological procedures, this one included via keyhole means. Patients are fit to leave the hospital the day after the surgery (ie. one night's hospital stay). Mr Trehan's complication rates are amongst the lowest reported in the literature.

Mr. Trehan practices in West Yorkshire, United Kingdom, however frequently treats patients from other parts of the United Kingdom as well as patients from other countries. For more information of Mr. Trehan's work and contact details, please visit:

  • The thing that angers me is...we keep getting told it's HORMONAL...CRAMPS ARE NOT HORMONAL. Severe endometriosis should never happen to us. Thats what happened to me......they can catch it before it gets this severe.

  • can somebody put some doom metal music to this?

  • @TheTeresaRaef Yes , they are going to have to reroute her ureter. Do I think she has it in her kidney or ureter, no. I have the same condition. It is only on the outside blocking the organs. Hopefully things are better once she has her ureter rerouted, and her kidney soon after functions well. You all are in my prayers.

  • @jdixson31My wife had excision surgery for endo performed on Thursday. A few days later she was having severe pain associated with her kidney. Come to find out, it was because of hydronephrosis. The doctors can't figure out why she had a narrowing in her ureter. Does this mean she will need ANOTHER surgery to fix the ureter and hydronephrosis? Do you think she still has endometriosis in her kidney/ureter?
