I like the 60d look better. What lens are you using. @anotherfool83 well this depends on the lens and f value. Not sure if he was trying to match the lens and f as close as possible.

It almost seems like the Panasonic can focus on the whole image at once, and the Canon cannot as well.

You can get a more shallow DOF from the HVS if you move it further away from the subject. I like DSLRs for short films and that type of stuff but as a general workhorse camera that's versatile for just about any situation with the ergonomics and sound control to match, nothing beats a good prosumer camcorder like the HVX. If you have the dough by all means own both and have the versatility to get the "meat and potatoes" shots with your HVX and do the pretty DOF stuff with the DSLR.

@NYGIANTPRIDE Yup, I own both and still use them all the time. The HVX used to sit in my car all the time but since I got a DSLR, I prefer to carry that more because of its portability and be able to change to different lens depending situation without needing an adapter. But I still prefer MPEG2 codec of HVX.
