  • @TheWizzkid02 Maika`i Ka `Oiwi O Ka`ala

    The peaks and ridges surrounding

Mount Ka`ala on the island of O`ahu are

thoughtfully compared to the form and

actions of a loved one in this

    mele ho`oipoipo honoring King Kalakaua

    -Keali`i Reichel

  • Hey anyone that wants the lyrics and translation just shoot me a message, I typed them up today direct from the album cover.

  • @caribkfan Maunaleo was written for his mum, he compares her to the majestic mountain Maunaleo, which is said to protect, nourish, love the people.

  • my second fav song by him

  • @caribkfan I have a link with the translation. I'll shoot you a pm with them. It is indeed a beautiful song it was compsed for Keali`i's mother Lei, she is compared to the majestic sentinel mountain, Maunaleo, who guards, comforts, nourishes and loves her people. Mälie is the gentle wind of the area.
