@adryanv Well we need to fall before we can walk, this was Apple's big step, two year later the Powerbook came into play.

It was like they took a desktop Mac, stuck a battery in it and called it a portable. I'm glad Apple introduced the Powerbook 100 series after that monster, it was like night and day.

@RalphHyre It actually only ran on battery power, for some reason it didn't use A/C power. I've heard it's actually possible to repack the lead acid cells or replace them entirely with AA batteries. The Macintosh Portable has quite a following, a lot of people have modified them because it was a very flexible machine that could be easily taken apart.

Amazing. That Mac Portable had a lead-acid battery, to heavy for casual "laptop" use. But it's a great commercial.
