Jazmyn Whitman - Tender Shepherd

Jazmyn Whitman, at age 4, sings acapella "Tender Shepherd" from the Mary Martin stage version of Peter Pan for ChildHelpUSA in a PSA targeted to bring awareness to Child Abuse. This single PSA brought more responses to the organization than all the others of this series combined. It was renewed for subsequent runs and the money Jazmyn made for acting in this commercial went to towards her own college fund almost 15 years later. Jazmyn was only acting here - don't be alarmed - she was never the victim of such things - but you'd be surprised to know how many children are. Get involved to end Child Abuse!

I remember they had another song for her to sing, but during the first dry run, she said she wanted to sing her 'own song'. At first humoring her, the director and producer so liked her acapella version of this song, that they scrapped the other one and had to rush around after the shoot to get the okay to use this tune in the PSA. She was co-directing at age 4, go figure...
