Whether modern drummers know it, or not, Gene Krupa is who they're trying to be like. He started what many see as the quintessential drummer. Ragged hair, crazy face, hands flying, drum solos!

MANY ROCK DRUMMERS GIVE GENE KRUPA PRAISE FOR HIS INFLUENCE ON THEM, i.e. CARMINE APPICE, JOHN BONHAM, CARL PALMER, BILL BRUFORD AND MANY OTHERS. GENE HAS BEEN MY INSPIRATION SINCE 1962. THEY BROKE THE MOLD AFTER HE WAS MADE, REST IN PEACE "DRUMMIN MAN".
