  • With all due respect Rabidape, you should post these on a separate channel. These are great and all, but every time I come on to YT it goes something like this:"O yay, a new Rabidape vi.... O SHIT NVM :(".

  • except if I made a new channel, I wouldn't be able to post hour-long vids on it.

And wouldn't you rather listen to Alan Guth than RabidApe, anyway?

    ;D

  • Great upload Rabidape. Is there a follow up to this? It ended kind of abruptly.

  • I think I once saw this exact same lecture recorded by someone's camcorder in the room (w HORRIBLE audio), but I couldn't find it when I actually looked for it before I typed this....

I haven't seen anything else from the class, either....

  • Thanks Rabid Ape , this is tasty!

  • always a pleasure!

  • why so much dislikes

  • @RabidApe More dislikes than likes? I'm sorry but you must have some incredibly dense subscribers, if their expectations are so bitterly confounded by the posting a of a full lecture from one of the world's great physicists.

  • @hanalei169, Hello, look at space as one thing and everything else within it as another. Space itself is expanding, everything inside of space is NOT expanding. We are made of matter, we do not expand (nor does the rock across the street), the vacuum of space is what expands, it is "The energy of nothing, even nothing has energy" [Michio Kaku]. There is more detailed info on this subject, you should watch some youtube vids regarding DARK ENERGY.

  • Will someone please answer my question? A common example given of the expansion of the universe is all the galaxies flying apart from each other and the space increasing between them. So my question is,does that mean that the space between individual atoms[(everywhere),inside you me, the rock across the street and the space between a proton and its electron and inside the nucleus of an atom] is also expanding? If so, am I right in ASSuming that Hubble's constant and expansion apply?

  • "And wouldn't you rather listen to Alan Guth than RabidApe, anyway?"

    hahhahahhahhahhhahhhahhahhhhahhhahahahahahahahaha!!!! No :)

  • Meh.. bad Gedanken Experiment. The G field extends all the way particle to particle inside the sphere as well. Not that there's no gravity inside. There is, just uniform pull in all directions. More or less.

  • I WANT UR CAT

  • Oh right. Damn youtubes and the time restrictions >_>

  • Ahh cool. Great lecture anyway. Really enjoyed it.
