This is how we have reformed scholarships in our town. Traditionally, politicians would give 1,000 to 3,000 pesos in aid per semester. In San Isidro, we used a vehicle provided by the department of labor to create youth leaders. Our measure of our success is in the job placement rate. So far, we have an average of 80% job placement.
SPES, also known as: Special Program for Employment of Students, aim to bring out the best in our youth to enable them to have personal leadership; at the same time have an awareness of their capacity to respond to the needs of their environment.
