LSD was created by accident by Albert Hoffman, NOT to emulate the effects of magic mushrooms. Although psilocybin and LSD are thought to act exactly the same way.
Also not so sure about the "3 times in a lifetime" business!

boo! Hallucinogenic visions are reality just processed in a different way. Sure these drugs are not for everybody. Especially people who subscribe to Saul's viewpoint.

He used an extreme example to counter a common (extreme) usage, he meant use these drugs sparingly and spiritually.

I'm pretty sure Huxley was the one who said a person should only take it 3 times.
It definitely wasn't Leary, he was quoted late in life as saying his only regrets regarding LSD were: "I should have taken more psychedelic drugs, and I should have made love more."

Leakeg, they are many people of groups of indigenous people who do these kinds of drugs a select few times throughout life, not to this is is the way they do it everywhere, but the idea is very important. I think if people in western society would treat these drugs the same way, both people who do and dont do drugs our society would be much better.
