Well just because it was Afro Peruvian DOES NOT make it the same as Afro Cuban! They are both different! They may have derived from the same or a similar root but it does not make it the same!

It's probably the African roots that came with the slaves to Latin and central America... I saw the other day a friend dance some sort of a Peruvian dance and it looked a lot like Rumba.. it was an Afro-Peruvian dance..
