VICTORIA - Before the athletes could compete and the 2010 Games could begin, the longest torch relay in history had to take place. It took thousands of organizers and volunteers and more than 12,000 torchbearers to take the torch across the country and bring it back. To keep everybody safe during the 106 day journey, five police officers traveled with the flame. One of them was Sgt. Tony Parks from the Victoria Police Department. He ran or biked alongside the torch for the majority of the relay and hes still basking in the torchs glow.
