Day 3 was cold, windy, and rain was threatening. The start was the usual crowd of people telling each other war stories about the previous days, and people fretting and dithering about what to carry, what to wear, and how to equip their boats.
At the finish, I planned to paddle out the 5+ miles to the last carry and paddle back with Doug and Mike as I had the day before, but I got to Oseetah Lake the wind was quite strong and waves were splashing into my cockpit. I figured that I wouldn't be doing anybody any good if I were to dump and/or get hypothermic, and so I turned back. I got passed by the first couple of war canoes on the way back.
