Showing off Beatmania on PS2 for all those anticipating DJ Hero

I own this game called Beatmania for the PS2 which is rare in the U.S. it came out around 2006 and it flopped but the game in my opinion is great.

All I really want to showcase is that this is one of he games that started the music simulator games. It was huge in japan and then spawned the guitar heros, rock bands, etc.

DJ Hero has NOTHING on this. This is the original turntable game.

only cuz ur a fanboi. dj hero will fail. ever heard of the game "Battle of the Bands" on the Wii? No? Exactly. Dj Hero is a ripoff of beatmania and that game based on the fact that your mixing artists like gwen stefani and eminem to some old 70's 80's beat. How gay.

BeatMania (JP) > DJ Hero

GuitarFreaks and DrumMania > Guitar Hero/Rock Band

These western games are just bad rip offs. But in a way it's Konami's own fault for not marketing it outside of Japan.

The quality of the music in the Konami games is amazing because all of th music is made especially for them, instead of just adding all of the popular licenses to get sales.

And if any of you want to see the REAL beatmania, there are plenty of vids on here showing the japanese one. The US one sucked.

beatmania gameplay is more complex than dj hero. hitting keys and scratching a turntable isn't as easy as it sounds, especially when there are seven keys. also, iidx has a mode called "double-play" or "14-key", and as the name implies, you play on both sides of the controller, a grand total of 14 keys and 2 turntables to scratch. you guys can do the math.

go and watch some of the real beatamania videos. i guarantee your mind will be blown.

Games like Beatmania, Guitar Freaks, and Drummania deserve alot more credit, yet games like Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and DJ Hero get all the fame.
