33002 'Seaking' was started today for it's first time in preservation at the South Devon Railway, Buckfastleigh. The SDDT owned loco has taken three and a half years undergoing restoration.

    Yes the loco has made it into service on the South Devon Railway and sees occasional use together with other locos we have on the line.

  • @The170460 I agree completely. successive uk governments were guilty of under investment in the nationalised rail network, before flogging it off to privateers out to make as much money as they can (without actually spending any) to my mind the only way forward is to renationalise and run it as a service provider. run efficiently and with adequate investment it would turn a profit. a real profit, as opposed to the current government (taxpayer) subsidies the companies claim as profits

  • @pinza55007 Loco is doing well, a few teething problems but nothing major. The loco will be out at the South Devon Railways June gala 2010 so why not come down and see the loco for yourself?
