The song is preceeded by a sanskrit verse that describes lord krishna as a young child wearing bracelets and anklets and dancing in his house. The verse describes how his various ornaments make sounds like "kankana.. kunkunu".
The song that follows the verse also describes the lord dancing with gay abandon, in the monsoon season in the wild. It describes his various movements while dancing, some fast and some slow. The poet then describes his ornaments. He is wearing necklaces and a crown studded with precious stones such as rubies, emaralds and diamonds. In the end the poet addresses the lord with his many names such as "mukunda, govinda, ananda.." and prays that the lord blesses him
