The Los Angeles trio By All Means began recording for 4th & Broadway in 1988. The group featured lead vocalist, trumpeter, and trombonist "James Varner" vocalist "Lynn Roderick" (previously worked as an actress in TV shows including "Moonlighting" and "Cagney & Lacey"), and guitarist "Billy Shepherd Roderick" (was an integral part of the group Skool Boyz). Producer "Stan Sheppard" (was in the audience and suggested they form a band with his brother Billy. Their debut LP was called "By All Means"in 1988, with the killers "I surrender to your love" and "You decided to go".Their second LP was "Beyond a Dream" in 1989. As writers and producers they have also worked with Gerald Alston (ex Manhattans)on his two solo albums for Motown Records.Their most recent and last release was "It's Real" for Motown in 1992.Since that time the group have adopted a low profile.

I was given the CASSETTE version.. yeah, they did make cassettes.. of this album, and I have fallen in love w/them ever since.. I'm a die hard rocknrolla, but a great singer will always get you.. this is a very well produced, well orchestrated, well played, and most of all - well sung (sang, sing, whatever!!) , well harmonized album... it's a MUST HAVE... PERIOD !!
