@MotherShrimp This song is taken from Altan's album called 'Harvest Storm' issued by Green Linnet Records in 1992 [GLCD 1117]. The song was originally from Rathlin Island, off the coast of County Antrim, in Northern Ireland. Only two verses of the song had survived because the Gaelic language (Gaelge) was dying out at the time when the song was collected. (Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh's father (Mairead Mooney is a transliteration of her name in English) wrote another two verses in the same style.

This song is wonderful. It never fails to make the Celtic blood in me flow; it really puts me in touch with my Scottish and Irish ancestral roots. Thanks for posting this.
