Ignorance isn't an excuse, he was a big star here, he knew the truths by now and any truly intelligent person knows poverty is colorless.
Not a big deal anyway, I agree with everything he's saying and Ice-T is a savvy guy. But he did generalize and what he said verged on racism.

@WelshDegenerate White kids were in poverty yet Ice-T grew up in Newark which faced White Flight and a kind of poverty whites will never know, and his reality was white kids on the other side of the track were having money and having parents whose generation was often racist.
While it may not be true in every case, we can't say explanation here is complete nonsense, he's talking about the world he knew. You can imply what you want, he's just trying to explain his theory based on his world

He says he "injected the white kids, with the anger of the black kids" implying that only black kids are going through struggle / in poverty.
Then he implies white = automatic wealth, and he even makes the mother in the anecdote automatically racist. As if white = wealth and racism.
