Women and men are not equals in skateboarding - no denying it.

It's due to:

A. Biology - Women have a lower center of gravity, known as hips/butt. This prevents them from jumping as high or being able to rotate their legs in the manner men can.

B. Society - Women are not taught that it is societally acceptable to skate.

The fact that she's broken both these boundaries makes her incredible. Stop being an asshole - she DESERVES to be pro. And her style is killer.

She is like one of the OG chicks of skateboarding dude she can probably date back to when they all started makin it on the skating scene Chad Muska Rodney Mullen Bucky Lasek I mean they were all wild and young and became very good at it by carving up the streets of Society :)

@PuerileHoney I'd agree with you in terms of the public. But those who grow up with interest in skateboarding mainly face male pro skaters. On teams, in movies, in video games. In skateboarding culture, women are not shunned, but are not glorified in the same way as men.

Good for Elissa. She's a woman, who looks like a woman, who skates like a woman. She doesn't have to compromise her gender for the sake of being a doooooooope skater.

@NoFearBabylon in fairness, i don't think either of the gender are TAUGHT anything by society that skating is socially acceptable - security are always tailing people and the public are always tools too about skating UNLESS you're a skater.
