Just get it. Straight out of the box. It'll change your life. Best game I've ever played, I almost can't bring myself to call it a game.

PS:T managed to tell a story in a weird and alien setting to most of us in such a well designed manner that it's unbelievable it isn't THE standard for any cRPG out there. Try to match feelings of amazement and epicness this game stirrs up yet alone with it's atmosphere. This is a once in a lifetime experience.

Can't we all agree that Fallout 1 and 2 are both great games and no matter which one you prefer there both better then Fallout 3 and leave it at that?

and thus we come full circle to where i wonder why we are having this discussion.

Its clear you like fallout 2 more. I'm happy for you. I like fallout one more. I'm more into the greater narrative and story arc, you seem to be more into sandbox rpg elements (how well designed dialouge trees and reactions are in city X)

I think we can both agree that both games were flat out amazing, but no amount of features in fallout 2 will change my mind that i enjoyed the overall story arc in f1.

what I liked in f2 was that the future was more realistic (to me). I mean, every city in f1 was filled with shiny happy people, who were mostly co-operativy, while in f2 everybody hated you until you earned their respect. new reno is a good part because you got plenty of choices with bishop family (work for them, kill them).

apart from this, f2 is newer. for me, playing f1 is now pain - I miss "take all" button, trading items with your party, giving orders, and some perks.

i felt fallout 2, while a bigger more content-filled experiance, lacked alot of the mood and pacing of the first one. the first one just felt darker to me; where the second one seemed to be fluffed up by gimmicks, like new reno.

Now, i know alot of people see new reno as the best part of fallout 2, and if you do, power to you. It wasn't what I was looking for in a fallout game, i still enjoyed it, but i felt fallout 1 was a classier experience in general, i felt it had less gimmicks.

just saying :) never met anyone who liked the first one more, than the second. first was too short and too easy for my liking, but great game anyway
