Famous Studios Popeye the Sailor cartoon. This is one of many cartoons where Popeye is put in the role of being the victim of abuse from a pesky animal. In this cartoon, Popeye gets the crap beat out of him by a fly. This one is a remake of the Fleischer Popeye short "Flies Ain't Human", but the fly in this one is more of a bully and heckles Popeye for no good reason whatsoever. Perhaps this fly's cruel treatment of Popeye is the main reason why the entire human race has grown a severe hatred towards flies and other pesky insects. All Popeye wanted to do was take a nap without being disturbed.

  • Man I wish I could punch annoying people through the radio. That would be sweet.

  • My favorite part was when at 6:14 when popeye went beserk losing to a fly---LOL

  • One of the few episodes in wich Popeye is beaten

  • Remake of FLies ain't Human and other old Popeye episodes

  • Wah happen?!

  • After eating that spinach, this fly was known as Super Fly!

  • @ThePopeyeFan Notice how the fly looks a lot like the '60s character Fearless Fly? Some of the Famous Studios animators worked on Hal Seeger's Fearless Fly cartoons series so they were probably thinking of this Popeye cartoon when they created Fearless Fly in the '60s.

  • Desi (Ricky Ricardo) Arnaz coined the interjection: "Wha' Hoppen?" Popeye uses it in this cartoon and another from that era.

  • 5:08 Popeye Is Choking With A Green Head!!!
