@ronmamita I can not comment on his private affairs, but I can assure you after I laid down the law for these debt vultures, THE CALLS STOPPED.
-Know the law, know your rights, that's the power that keeps these bottom feeders away.

@jscastro116 That's funny... because I know attorneys who do make debt collectors have to travel half way across the country to appear in court AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE to testify of their illegal actions as according to the FCC and FDCPA. I hope you save a stash of your commission money, in case you're called up.
NOTE: as a THIRD PARTY, NO LAW REQUIRES a person to pay you squat. -But thank you for confirming exactly how low collectors will go to prey on those enduring economic hardship.

@threetime1 Actually, you're WRONG. The case won't be thrown out, because even if they failed to state that they do not permit recording of their voices during the conversation, such a complaint would have to be filed under a DIFFERENT CASE all together. Trust me, I do a lot, a lot of legal research on this. And in 90% of cases, not identifying a desire to not be recorded is considered as the assumption by judges that the individual does not disprove of such practices.

Nice! I deal with the same company. My wife has a few medical bills in their hands. They will call asking for her, and when I say I am her husband, they share EVERYTHING with me. I will turn to my wife and ask her about it, she will get on the phone and slaughter them for giving out ANY PRIVATE info!!! Apparently, it's illegal for them to disclose anything even to a spouse!!! Great job!!!! Wish I can figure out what to do with telemarketers.

Allied Interstate is one of the most disreputable vomit stains ever to soil the world of finance! We had a similar experience with these filth calling for someone who never lived at our number, and don’t believe that “mix-up” B.S. for a second, they know full well they are violating the law. In addition to socking them with formal complaints, we contacted the person they were looking for and clued them in on their rights under the law. Now, their account is worth its weight in dog shit!

@PatrioticInsurgent Not trying to give you shit bro as I applaud you busting those pricks asses, but, there is a huge difference between video taping in public and recording a phone call. Granted, laws are different from state to state. But you have to tell the person you are recording the conversation even if they tell you they are. I know this first hand. Case will be thrown out just for that. But others will buy that debt and do same.
you said "my cell phone or my home phone" after the agent asked if he was speaking to yoru brother..... so by doing so you confirmed that he could go ahead with the call

@tubofbologna Actually, that by LAW is not a substantial response. I've spoke with them on other cases. When they ask are you "so-and-so", I would respond with words like "o.k" "how can I help you", and other non YES responses. I assure you, I worked as an investigator for 7 years. I know from the attorneys I worked for how crucial the specific words are in such cases. The majority of profit seeking collectors know the law, and try to use LACK OF KNOWLEDGE OF RIGHTS against us.

arent you pissed off at your brother for giving your telphone number and address instead of his own???

@tubofbologna It wasn't my house either. I was just visiting when the call came in, and the owner of the home allowed me to return the call because they wanted to put an end to the harassment from the collectors. I'd bend over backwards for my brother, he'll always be my best friend for life.
