I hate when people always break down the techniques and are like... well id never let him do that or all u have to do is this blah blah have an arsenal anything can work in any situation just the same as how it could not... any way ya that technique seems like something we do called an ankle pick usually I work this while mounted... on the hiphook an ankle triangle it turn in to half guard...

@TheScamr Correct, and all we have to do is prevent him from doing that by posting with our elbow.
Understanding that there is a counter to everything, and that's why it's called a fight.
ever been caught in an armbar attempting this?
Momentimum 3 weeks ago
@Momentimum No. Obviously you'll need to protect your arm if you feel your opponent start the armbar. If he goes for it, stack escape and use that to take top position. It's definitely something to be aware of, but as long as you're aware of your opponent's options, it makes it much easier to prepare for and defend them.

@TechniquePrevails True, being aware of techniques is half the battle in bjj. But most advanced artists won't give time to become aware of the sub attempt. So I suppose it's a matter of who does what first in this technique.

@Momentimum Agreed- that's why we call it a fight.

@TechniquePrevails lol well I tend to stick to the techniques that leave my opponent powerless. Don't want them fighting back on me now
Momentimum 3 weeks ago
@Momentimum Not for nothing, but I tend to stick to opponents and training partners that I can't completely dominate. So should I find myself in a bad position, I need little adjustments like this one that help me get out. If I find myself underneath my opponent's side control- there's very little that I know of that can leave him "powerless."
Keep rolling, and thanks for watching.
