  • I know some world-sailors that do it on multi-hulls but I think they are insane. Multi-hulls are more stable upside down than right side up and are a liability at sea to life. Even worse, they cannot go to weather like a good performance monohull, hence, CANNOT GET OFF A LEE SHORE in bad conditions!

  • Sorry to disagree with you, but the Cheekee Monkee could out point pretty much ANY production monohull. And we raced against an OD48, big Santa Cruz's, Transpac's and J-Boats. Any modern trimaran has NO difficulty pointing.

  • @ProductionDesignrMAX , I hope you've learned a bit about multihulls in the 4 years since you posted your comment. I'll take a multihull over a mono anywhere (with the possible exception of either Arctic Circle during berg calving season. A properly designed multi is as safe as any other vessel on the seas, and usually quite a bit faster. I can point within 3-5 degrees of any mono I've ever owned, and if I were to hit a lee shore, I'd rather do it in a boat that would be LEVEL when I hit it.

  • To the fukwits argueing about pointing of trimarans just look at the history of the ostar transat race AGAINST the prevailing winds, tris do it days quicker than monos. Dont talk shit

  • I love multihulls for their performance, it's just a bummer their downside for ocean sailing is they're not self righting.

    Cheekee Monkee - nice name : )

  • Hi Tri-Skippers, how will you right up a capsized tri? Do you need a boat with a crane or so?

  • they salvaged it, and they also broke an alma once to. My boat flip flop and fly pitchpoled and it was recovered after and we rebuilt it! It used to sail out of victoria b.c. now it sails out of san fransisco

  • Cheekee Monkee, I was wondering if your boat was salvaged? We had an unfortunate incident with out Corsair 36 recently. You can check out my videos. The one that has been viewed the most explains in the comments what happened. Thanks.

  • Except that you are WRONG. I don't care what your experience tells you. PHYSICS ARE ON MY SIDE. PERIOD. You clearly need to learn more bro.

  • I've read a few of your comments on multi video's. I'm not into the whole debating on youtube thing but MY WORD you are properly clueless PDMAX. I've spent many years sailing mono's and multi's including cats and tri's. Many (not all) cats can struggle to point, but a good tri WILL point as high as a mono and in my experience generally higher. And thats 'a function of physics and design' I can tell you this not from what i think i know but from experience.

  • you are the idiot and a dog you douchebag.

EVERYONE knows that a good mono can point to 35degrees and NO multi can

    PERIOD

its a function of physics and design

my dad kicked you stupid dads ass by the way

    my dad indeed

    stupid fucking pussy

  • you can disagree all you want the TRUTH is that no "Cheekee Monkee" can point within 35 degrees

    PERIOD

if you think it can you are kidding yourself.

    Its a matter of PHYSICS
