update on the progress of these Bees... They are some type of Bumbius but I have not been able to narrow it down.

Judging by the markings, I think your species may be Bombus Ternarius, the red-tailed bumble bee.
Neat to find a colony of them in your back yard, I've never even seen one.

Thank you for suggested type. I checked out the Ternarius Bombus species photo. It is very simular but one yellow stripe below the red is missing on mine. I am told these stripes are important to identity.

A bumble bee nesting place is not often seen.
I dont which species of Bombus it is, I live in the UK.
I did enjoy your film, I love Bumbles.
