I cant get the firmware to Upgrade. I downloaded the Upgrade & Zipped it , I pluged my hard drive to PC dragged the update over to the Hard drive...... I pluged my hard drive into my WD player. when I clicked on the folder it told me there was nothing in the folder help????

Just download and copy the file to a usb pen drive , star WD TV it will detect it .

extracted , you do not need to search for the file , just leave it outside folders .

I DONT EVEN HAVE THE FIRMWARE UPGRADE ICON ON MY SETTINGS MENU..... MAN OH MAN HAS THIS PISSED ME OFF THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS TRYING TO UPGRADE THE FIRMWARE

@chefedogang i did everything u had shown. for some reason my wdtv doesnt have a folder that allows me to update my firmware. what can i do?

of course, mine was for custom firmware... :) Didn't realize you were doing factory firmware... Cheers!

The un labelled Icons look like a nightmare for large movie libraries. Why do all these media streamers have such god awful interfaces.

First you have to check your version of your device. 2 versions are available the generation 1 (model:WDAVN00) will update to 1.03 and the generation 2(model:WDBABF0000NBK) will update to 1.01.77 (for now)
