Another shot of Dad running the engine at Pacific Northwest Live Steamers, Molalla, Oregon. You will notice that the tender is off Dads Hudson engine because he hadn't quite finished the tender for the Yellowstone.

  • haha, i just noticed somethin when did the northen pacific merge with the new york central

  • They merged that day sense the tender for the Z5 was not complete yet so Dad used his Hudson tender to let me run my engine for the first time.

I do love the comment. That's fun right there!

  • what a beautiful locomotive, nice work. im a livesteamer too i drice a y6b in 5gauge takes 13 years to built it look at my channel to see it. best wishes from germany power further so..

  • how often did he have to refill the tender? Notice how the boiler is at least 3 times bigger than the tender

  • I would love to see some close up video of the engine, pumps working, backhead, valve gear, etc.

I grew up on the Soo Line back in the 40s and I did build a 1" inch scale LE 4-6-2 in the early 60s but that was a life ago now.

I love the videos, keep them coming.

  • what a beast of an engine.

  • Amazing engine. Thanks for sharing!
