The best cuts from a documentary about Russian airlines in the early days of the post Communist era, early 1990s.

  • what sukhoi fighter bomber on what aircraft carrier? this guy is talking out of his ass

  • @chaoblinka Yeah, pax don't always know what they're talking about, but we understand the point that they're trying to get across.

p.s., it would be SU-33k for the fighter bomber, and Kuznetsov class would be the carrier. ;)

  • Thanks for posting this. I watched it when it was on Channel Four originally. I had it on VHS. Those guys certainly know how to fly ! Any chance of posting it in its entirity when you get a chance ?

  • @drpoxy I'm afraid Youtube allows me only ten minute snippets.

  • I have a copy of the entire documentary on the hard disk of a crashed Panasonic DVD player... I just have to figure out how to recover it. I've flown numerous times in Russia in 134s and 154s and they rate among my most enjoyable PAX experiences. Long live Russian aviation!

  • I have the whole thing in a .avi file....

I would love to fly a Russian airliner, you're very fortunate to have the experience. I don't think any of them are economically viable for commercial operation with today's fuel prices.

  • Lol...after seeing that many people in the cockpit...I think it'd be appropriate for a "How many Russians does it take to screw in a lightbulb" joke.

  • Will somebody answer that!

  • 1:40 (he uses his intuition) (летают своим собственным соображением) -(using his mind) ... must be translated Exactly .......

  • Russia is awesome! I love working in Russia.

  • I love it when people that don't know shit about flying offer there judgement on why these pilots probably make good landings!
