This is a 1979 made for TV movie based on the Barbara Cartland novel of the same name. I have previously uploaded just Timothy Dalton's parts of this movie for Dalton fans and am now going to upload the whole movie for Shane Briant fans since this was his only romantic lead over a long career of playing bad guys in numerous movies and TV shows and it hasn't seen the light of day in 30 years. The heroine, Vada (Linda Purl), is an innocent American heiress in Paris in the 1890's, and she seems to be in danger most of the time. Her true love, Pierre (Shane Briant) saves her from herself and the evil Marquis de Guaita (Timothy Dalton). As you'll see, it's one of those movies that's so bad it ends up being good fun. Enjoy!

  • Well, I just told you I'm dying, but hey, you're excused.

  • I've never read the book, and yes it was a bit cheesy, but it was entertaining to watch! Thanks for uploading it! (Although it was hard to watch Timothy behaving so badly! ;)

  • waste of time

  • thanks for sharing this movie .. :)

  • That was awful, but hilarious.

  • That a truly terrible. lol

They totally hacked up her book. Poor Ms. Cartland.

  • I loved it!

Yes,it was very cliched, and I cringed quite a few times, but It was fun to watch...

    Thankyou for uploading this :-)

  • That was truly awful! I can not believe I watched the whole thing. Guess I was looking for something realistic. ...... And dear Dalton, how could you get involved in such drivel. ------ Did you forget you were an actor! Barbara Cartland, the millions you made by writing, was not derserved. AAAAAAAgh!

  • OK...this movie was sweet. Every little girl's dream come true. Ms. Cartland did her research on the "Dollar Princesses" of The Gilded Age. American heiresses that married English aristocrats to give them much needed money for their estates & in return received titles. Rarely a true-love match. Shane Briant, brilliant as always. I always enjoy all of his work. He can do anything.
