Hello everybody! Today I will review Dragon's Lair on the DSi.
Hope you'll enjoy!

EDIT:
I changed my review a little bit...

History:
In 1983, we could find games like Pac-Man and Mario Bros. in arcades. However, a special game caught attention of players, Dragon's Lair. The animations of this game are created by Don Bluth, a man known for his animated films of Disney. 26 years later, Dragon's Lair is back on DSi. For those who missed the chance to play this great game (like me), this is a great opportunity to try it.

The goal:
In Dragon's Lair, you become a knight named Dirk the daring in a quest to save Princess Daphne from the claws of the evil dragon. You must, with the D-Pad and A button, go through all the rooms of the castle to finally arrive in the lair of the dragon.

Gameplay (6/10):
However, unlike traditional games from the 80s, you dont directly control your character. At a certain point, you must press on the D-Pad (to move) or the A button (to hit foes with your sword) depending on whats going on. Even if, sometimes, you have no idea what to do in the room, Dragon's Lair offers a good and fair challenge. Sometimes, youre so "absorbed" by the game, you have the impression that you are Dirk.

Visual (7.5/10):
One of the strengths of Dragon's Lair is the visual. The animation, which looks like a Disney movie, makes the game fun to watch. Unfortunately, the frame rate is little bit bad, because of the compression of the video.

Sound (7/10):
The sound is well placed through Dragon's Lair. Here's an example: when Dirk is in danger, you hear a panic sound.

Conclusion (7/10) EDIT:
I ONLY recommend this "game" for people who never played Dragon's Lair and don't to play on a TV screen or a Ipod touch/Iphone. Being released a thousand of time (DVD, Game Boy Color, Wii, Ipod Touch, etc.), it's kind of hard to fully enjoy this game. Don't get me wrong, I really like playing it (I even give it a 8 before editing my review). It's the fact that, after finshing it, you have NO replay value and no reward that lower the score. Plus the quality of the video are not really great and it's a quite expensive compaire to other version.

  • Wait! How come the title of this video has "review" in?! There is no review of this game whatsoever in the 3:37 I watched it! Not one word was spoken! What a rip-off! It was more like "watch me play about 3 mins worth of Dragon's Lair on the DSi. I'm voting dislike cause we are all being mislead by this fool! And who are the 15 idiots voting they liked this? Bunch of numb-nuts!

Yes, I know. In Japan, this is going to be 25,000 yen, which is 299.631 USD (or 300 USD if you prefer). It's not officially confirmed outside Japan but we can expect to be 300 USD.
