@prettygirlfall2k3 Thank you! I made this one, actually. :)

Vodka is well known in the costuming industry for taking the odor out of garments that can't be washed. The costume department in the theatre in my town put it in spray bottles and spray all the costumes after each show.
Good tips!
Oh, and I've finally broken down and am making another corset myself. Thank you for the inspiration to do so. :)
Cheers.

@bishonenrancher Thank you - it's good to know that he wasn't lying just to make a sale.

Bicarbonate of soda lightly brushed over the fabric cleans and freshens it too. Storing corsets with lavender or rosemary (in muslin bags) keeps them fresh too. Dry cleaning can still rust up the metals. That's why I really like the plastic covered flat bones. :-)

@bishonenrancher thanks :)
What corset are you wearing here, it looks lovely!

How to you get dirt off of the "fashion fabric" of the corset?

@SenecaHouston I usually just try to spot clean my fabrics. I don't want to sound like an infomercial, but my family uses OxyClean pretty much for everything. :)

A corset maker I know told me at one point that, to avoid tangling, one should put the laces in a parachute knot before hanging them inside out in the closet like that. Would you say that's a good or bad idea, out of curiosity? He said to store them pretty much exactly like you showed here just... with the laces in the parachute knot to avoid tangling.

@dairinecaoilfhionn That's actually a pretty good idea. I tend to just drape the laces over the hanger but tying them neatly would likely be a lot easier.
