Argentine woman challenges 'illegal' adoption - 4 April 08

Many people in Argentina are still struggling to come to terms with the atrocities committed by the country's military dictatorship during the 1970s.

Tens of thousands of people disappeared during brutal crackdowns, and hundreds of children were either taken by the government or born in captivity.

Now, 24 years on, one woman is suing her parents for illegally adopting her and hiding her true identity.

Lucia Newman has her story.

It GREAT that she's getting justice for her real parents and herself. Feel sorry for the adopters as they could have been desperate for any baby going and just did whatever they were asked. It's all cold all round.

Hopefully not, but I would not be suprised if it does happen. Here in the U.S. there was a case last fall of a couple whose daughter was taken away at birth - social workers explicitly stated in court documents that one of their reasons for taking the baby was that the father was too right wing for their tastes.

That she is angry at them it is understandable but this is not the way to deal with her situation .She will never heal

Adoption of toddlers and infants today is equivalent to child trafficking.

Those adopted parents knew what was done to the real parents of the children because most of them were relatives, friends and/or participants of their parents murders.

Its equivalent to infertile Nazi's and their sympathizers adopting Jewish babies after murdering their parents.

I can't wait for millions international adoptee's to start suing the APs that funded their kidnapping.

But I hope no one in Britain gets their children taken away for political reasons. But of course I agree that adopted children should know the truth as soon as they start to understand.

it kinda sucks what she's doing to her adoptive parents.

because they don't seem to have taken part in her biological parent's deaths.

all they did wrong was take a child in that was probably going to go to an orphanage or worst.... and hide the truth about her biological parents, which wouldn't have made a difference if she knew... i mean it's not as if they're coming back or she can bring someone to justice for her parent's deaths.
