Highland ponies have been used for generations to carry culled red deer off the Scottish hills. The ponies carry heavy loads across country that vehicles could not cope with. But it takes a special temperament to tolerate the smell of a dead deer. Will Finn be good enough?

Finn has since been sold to a deer stalking estate. He will continue his education as a deer pony and will also be shown.

  • Hi Hawkeyegemma! Finn is getting an open umbrella waved at him (and his yearling pals!) every morning when he gets his hard feed. He should be pretty near bomb proof by the time we get to load a stag on his back. If you are passing by, do pop in and see the ponies. Derry
