  • Is the person in the middle standing up playing the alto or the tenor sax?(or none?)

  • @cheacky15 That's me, playing an alto saxophone.

  • im 12 play sax and next year i am going to join jazz band in 7th grade any tips?

  • @PS3SuperGamingClan a great way to help you sound better is by listening carefully to the recordings of the songs you are playing in jazz band. We're trying to play music that's part of a legacy, and knowing how the greats sounded will really help you in your playing. Listen to as much jazz as possible, find out who's on recordings you like and then find other records with those musicians!

  • what setup are you using? mpc, reeds, sax??

  • I am playing a Manning Custom "Warmdaddy" Alto saxophone, Manning Custom Mouthpiece (very open), and Hemke 2.5 reeds. All those things help, but (pre)hearing the sound that you want to come out of the saxophone makes a profound difference too.
