Haifa Street - Iraq

For long years Haifa Street has been held up as a measure of the disaster unfolding upon Iraq. Sectarian kidnaps, car bombs and acute deprivation were commonplace. But now there are signs that change is afoot.
Haifa Street was once home to the Ba'ath Party's most senior officials. With liberation it became embroiled in the bitterest of sectarian fighting. "It was a ghost street. No human life. Only snipers and killing and slaughter and corpses. And wild dogs which had grown used to eating human flesh." Saad al-Anbaki witnessed much of the fighting in
the area, "it was the first time I saw human bodies cut up like that." He blames the Al Qaeda foreigners for radicalizing Sunni against Shia, "you could either follow the orders of the insurgents, or die." And then things got worse as the US invaded alongside the Shia dominated National Guard: out of the chaos developed bloody sectarian cleansing.

i was there in 2007 2bct 1cd , 4-9 cav. ft hood texas, it was us and 1-12 inf from ft lewis. and yes that place was hell, 15 months of pure hell

Do All religions encourage to fight each other? The crusades were a response to Islamic expansion and aggression So i don't think you can qualify them with the horrors or the Inquisition

Religion is what religion does... Terror is what all religions use.

Before it was the crusades and the inquisition with the Christians. Now it's wahabism and al-qaeda with Moslems.

It's all the same bullshit... If anything this only shows that there is no divinity in religion. Just like any other man made ideology, religion can be twisted and changed whether thru interpretation or thru rewrite of its teachings.
