Inspired by Peter Bennett's popular BeatBearing prototype posted on YouTube, and built with his encouragement, our Beat Sequencer provides a simple and intuitive way for visitors to create rhythmic compositions. The Beat Sequencer allows 'hands-on' manipulation of the beat. As a learning tool, the beat sequencer provides a visual way of discovering how several instruments are put together to make a composition.

  • It was pretty simple. The credit should go to Peter Bennett who came up with the first elegant version. To make ours we used 32 good pushbuttons, arranged them in a grid driving a Hagstrom KE-USB24 keyboard emulator. It has a USB output. There is a 24" Imac behind the button array. The rest is simple software.

  • very very cool! ^^

  • This is so great, you guys are Brilliant!! I really like that you figured out how to make your very own. Can you PLEASE Post a video "How to make a BeatSequencer" Step by step how to, with a list of all the parts needed? That would be so awesome, you would be my hero. You would also be teaching and helping a lot of people learn about composition. Thanks, and good job!!
