We are all fortunate to live in a time where legends like SWAPAN JI are still there and teaching newer generations.

Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri did not learn from Late Pandit Gyan Prakash Ghosh. His guru was Late Pandit Santosh Krishna Biswas.

one of the most creative tabla players. His playing is like a song. Thank God for him. thank you for the post. He learnt from Great ustads of Lucknow Garana. I read his articles. He also learnt from Pt. Gyan Ghosh the great.

my guruji told me a funny story... Swapanda had just finished doing his dhere dhere in a concert in calcutta and Panditji Shankar Ghosh came late and he wanted to hear it so he told Swapanda to do it again... and he of course he is so gracious and played it again flawlessly. Swapanda is such an amazing artist we are truly fortunate to be able to see his playing on here.

Effortless execution. Pure Brilliance
I always feel so fortunate to see videos of Swapanji.
Thanks so much for uploading it! I love how he takes a complex technical passage and gradually adds different accents to shape it into something else, then gradually inserting different bols to express it in a different way. Pure genius!
