This is a project I have been working on in my spare time for the last few months. I wanted a Windows 7 touchscreen tablet with a large screen that could handle HD video and wasn't too thick or power hungry. The build cost for this was around $600-700. I had to sit at a weird angle for filming so I had a couple issues with the touchscreen, but it was only becuase of my odd positioning. The touch responsiveness is acutally pretty good, not iPad good, but good enough for me . Enjoy!

  • 700 dollars, you could buy a good gaming computer with that. I bet your specs are pretty good though (not like a netbook) I plan on making one of these with an old laptop and some misc. parts

  • I know it's really expensive to put a multitouch overlay on this, but I was wondering... could you possibly get the digitizer from another tablet and wire it onto the homemade one? It would be cheaper, but I don't know if it would work the same.

  • how does it get its power, and about how big do u thing someone would be able to make this, lastley how many modifications to the design could be made?

  • This is really cool. its even better because window 8 is coming out

  • Question: How did you format the drive?
