  • You're only suppose to batter one side of the shiso leaf. The other side is suppose to be kept green.

  • I don't like to measure when I cook, either. Effort.

    It must have been difficult to make tempura out of the shiso because it's so thin. If I was making it, each shiso leaf would be an unrecognizable fried clump!
