The Exorcist - A video By Herman Ashley this Video was done with a Flip Ultra HD Camcorder.

The Exorcist is a 1973 American horror film directed by William Friedkin, adapted from the 1971 novel of the same name by William Peter Blatty, dealing with the demonic possession of a young girl and her mothers desperate attempts to win back her daughter through an exorcism conducted by two priests. The film features Ellen Burstyn, Linda Blair, Max von Sydow, Kitty Winn, Lee J. Cobb, Jason Miller and Mercedes McCambridge. Both the film and novel took inspiration from a documented exorcism in 1949, performed on a fourteen-year-old boy. The film is one of a cycle of 'demonic child' movies produced in the late 1960s and early 1970s, including Rosemary's Baby and The Omen.
The film became one of the most profitable horror films of all time, grossing $440,000,000 worldwide, and proved to have a profound effect on popular culture. The film earned ten Academy Award nominations—winning two, one for Best Sound and Best Adapted Screenplay, and losing Best Picture to The Sting. Along with the novel on which it was based, Blatty's script has been published several times over the years. The Exorcist was commercially released in the United States by Warner Bros. on December 26, 1973, and re-released on March 17, 2000, with a restored version released on September 22, 2000. It was named the scariest movie of all time by Entertainment Weekly and Movies.com citation needed and by viewers of AMC in 2006.

  • luved watching this video, but i wish they added a verbal run through of the particular scenes with details.

  • @stitchesful That's not what "pissed him off". It was Bill firing guns on set to motivate the actors.

  • WOW, amazing after so many years this places are almost the same when they filmed the movie way back then. I saw this movie when I was only 10 years old and it terrified the hell out of me...well I saw the movie last night again and it did the same effect, I think Linda Blair should have won the Oscar for the best supporting actress as it was supposed to be in 1973 the media made a cloud over this, too controversial and she didn't won the award.

  • @buffedtrainer That's so amazing. I would've loved to have been there, too. On one of the special edition versions of the movie for its anniversary, there was an interview with Jason Miller (the actor that plays Father Karras), and he talks about the Georgetown University students hanging around during the filming of the scene at the end where he's dying on the staircase. He said, in a good natured way, that they really "pissed him off."

  • shes using a flip video camera

  • I was a student @ Catholic University in Washington, D.C. when they were filming "The Exorcist"..we saw an ad in the paper for extras one day, and we all headed over to Georgetown. Didn't get to be in the film, but met William Peter Blatty and had him sign a copy of the book for me.

  • This is a great video - you should definitely add some simple, short voice over commentary or descriptions. Then it would be just perfect. Good work.

  • Great shots, what camera are you using?

  • your camera takes gorgeous shots..

  • Wonder how the steps looks and feel on a rainy night?
