@Madowstone Cacti is fine with the PHP poller - cmd.php - for a couple of hundred devices, depending on how many data sources you are getting, but yes, switching to the Cacti C poller - spine - once you get past that will show a drastic improvement in polling time.

As long as you only have 20-30 devices cacti works fine.
But having 347.000 Datasource the issues getting bigger and bigger.
Using a modified BOOST Plugin and the Spinepoller you have a chance to handle big installations.
