@svt283 You have obviously not fired, stripped or cleaned a gas piston designed rifle. The inside of the upper receiver is not fouled with carbon like on the infamous direct impingement gas system. The upper therefor needs very little cleaning if any at all and it's merely the barrel and chamber that needs attention. The bolt, bolt carrier and upper receiver needs just to be wiped off and lubricated and you're done. With the a DI upper you will spend hours cleaning your upper and magazines.
I've shot over 1000 rounds flawlessly with my AR that has the CMMG piston, only thing I've done is add a little lube to the bolt. the part of the AR/M-16 that makes it jam a lot more than an AK is the bolt with the lugs that have to fit into the barrell extension then twist to lock. Any sand or powder or brass shavings and you're toast. I have both and the AR is more accurate but for SHTF AK is the way to go- much more reliable and the 7.62x39 is much more deadly. Sorry American Pride.
You all feel that cleaning the gas piston system in under a minute is stupid because you need to use tools you probably already have? I remember taking 10 minutes with pipe cleaners trying to clean the gas tube to get it close to this clean. Whatever makes you feel good.
I love how people convert to a piston that is not needed, they tout how easy it is to maintain, yet you need 17 tools, 3 liquids, and all kinds of BS. Oh yeah, and a stick.

@skyungjae Really! I'm planning to get this kit for my 7.62x39 upper. I'll check out their web site. Thanks!

I didn't like this particular system either. CMMG has made major updates to their design though.
