http://www.arresteddevelopmentmusic.com is one place you can go if you want to order AD's new album "Since The Last Time" which is their FIRST IN THE U.S. SINCE 1994!!! it came out in December of 2007 and their video for the lead single "Miracles" was featured on channel 330 on Directv, BETJ's show "Soul Sessions."
This is a lesser known song off of the band's debut album "3 Years, 5 Months And 2 Days In The Life Of..." which got it's name from the exact length of time it took for their record deal to go through. The album was released to warm critical acclaim, selling 5 million copies and receiving heavy airplay with three singles, the infectious, spiritual song about going back to a simpler time, "Tennessee," the song that was meant to make people realize derelicts are people too, "Mr. Wendal," and AD's cover of Sly and the Family Stone's "Everyday People," "People Everyday."
After their debut, AD released "Zingalamaduni." The album was released to a luke-warm reception and the band broke up two years later without releasing a follow up until they reunited in 2000 without their DJ, Headliner. Since the break up, AD has released 4 albums and their lead vocalist, Speech, has released 2 solo efforts. They continued to record in Europe and Asia and decided to return to the U.S. in December of 2007.
This track, although not as well-known as others by AD, contains not only one of the most infectious bass-lines of all time, but also has one of the band's most heart felt tracks on the album. enjoy.
I find it to be a loss, that a group of this calibre, is not still putting out music with this type of message, and vibe.
The blast of negativity and self-degrading, regurgitated hatred, that seems to be the "musical malt liquor" of today, has made it almost impossible for me to even want to turn on my radio any longer!
