Your video raised thoughts I had never thought about before. I am going to watch this again for sure. As far as the Thelemic interpretation, I was dissappointed you didn't explain more. I suppose one could research ones self? I really don't know but am interested. I would think it would correlate with Wagners Ring cycle. The old Ring not the new and improved made for tv version.

Well, Thelema for me is something I don't want to talk about too much. Getting into Thelema (as with any other form of magick) is a voyage to explore the self, and that's something I believe everybody has to do on his/her own. Every bit of help provided by others would limit the possible answers one can find. Even Crowley warned of believing him... ;)

I have to confess that I don't know Wagner's work.

Following your model, we would then bring these memories up into the conscious realm of air and water when actively reliving them and being fully conscious of them.

But again, it's largely semantics, and I think just the difference between "the memory" and "a memory" :)

Yup, I think we're on the same page with this one with a slight difference of symantics :)

This "digging" is precisely the work I'm engaged in right now. What I am finding it analogous to is freeing various memories (each with their own elemental associations) from earth. This is why I think I tend to prefer the term "storage", seeing "earth" as more of the medium, rather than it being the substance of the memories themselves.

:) The conscious access is like the surface. The analogy for earth representing memory would be archaeology (as well as freudian psychology): If you take on the work of "digin in the dirt" ;) you can uncover those things otherwise blocked from conscious access. So I use the word memory to describe the past (passed) information, nor our grade of access to it. Our access to that memory is most of the times like looking at the surfaces of things.

Or put another way, I'm not certain if earth would be related to the areas of memory to which we have conscious access.

One additional note I wanted to make: The more I consider it, the more I am tending to lean towards thinking of certain aspects of earth as "storage" rather than being directly associated with memory.

Basically, the place where other elements (and aspects of ourselves) get "trapped" or "buried" (think Qlippoth). This definitely corresponds to much of what you were saying in your video, but I'm not sure if "memory" is precisely the right word for this.
