Not a good product. I just returned my DW drop clutch. The catch is not catching and holding on to the cymbal and it at times just closes on its own. The Coady Clutch looks better but the company is most difficult in trying to reach. They do not return calls for what that is worth.

THANKYOU!(:

i hate drum clutches the downside is that if you play too hard with the hats closed the top hat can float up and transfer to open. you'd have to raise the clutch high enough for the top hat not to catch in which case it would sound terrible when you switch to open. convenient yet flawed

Thanks for this vid, now I know which one to buy. Lol after i got my double bass pedals for christmas last year I used to have to be playing double bass with my hi hat loosened so it was closed, then if it came to a part of a song with hi hat i would have to pause it, re tighten it and keep going. So annoying!

and you can use that little hole (where the key would go on a normal clutch) to hold the cymbals a little bit open but not as open as fully open...if you can keep the top cymbal in the right position for that to work (not just updown, but turning itself around)

no problem :)

so this just attaches to your hihat and if you hit the black thing it closes and then when you step on the pedal it opens and your hihat is normal again?

yes, when u hit the black thing, it closes it so u can play double bass, with it closed, than just tap the pedal and it re- hooks, than its back to normal
