  • dodgechallengerguy is right. not only does the port create pressure to keep the sub from over excursion but also the vehicle cabin creates pressure. if you were to open your boot all pressure is lost inside the cabin meaning the sub will go over its mechanical limits and evently break. example will be if you close your windows in your car and play your music. upon opening the window while playing music you release some of the pressure subs moves more freely and it gets louder.

  • @cnim1

if your wisdom was foolproof then every single sub thats in an audio showroom would be blown due to no cabin pressure....

  • @90accordman It's not really bad to play a sub free air, what's really bad is if you change the pressure suddenly like opening your trunk while the sub is at full excursion. THAT could make the sub go over its mechanical limits.

  • @Bigoso310sb 1500 Watt RMS :D :D They are amazing for quality AND for Spl

  • watts the rms on these?

  • @MinaOmasMahlas 25 Watt???????????? Are you being fucking serious???

  • to answer these kids questions your not supposed to play a sub at all with it out like that. show rooms do have subs out but they are in a room at the same time

  • @awesomeman123 what your suggesting couldnt possibly be right, this effect would be mostly seen in SUVs. and sadly it doesnt work like that, the port does not create pressure, it "tunes" the box by adding length to the exit. the reason it prevents woofers from over-excurting is because the box's tuning point is typically where the woofer moves the least, and anything under tuning frequency will cause it to start sloping more into excursion, which is typical in cheap woofers, not expensive ones.

  • Damn

  • holy fucking huge surround

  • @90accordman idiot, if you were not a fool and understood where the guy was trying to prove a point.

    you would be foolproof.

  • @sp3ar2envi its not bad mna, just take a plastic bag and tie it around your neck then the low notes should hit the same.
