The sad story of Alferd Packer whose friends joined him for lunch. In fact, they WERE lunch. In the late 1800s poor Al became the first person accused and convicted for cannibalism. Unlike Jeffrey Dahmer, Packer consumed human flesh in order to stay alive during a ferocious blizzard in the Colorado Rockies. With his companions dead from overexposure, in order to survive, Packer had no recourse but to the dead bodies into flank steak...rump roast...uh...you get the picture!

  • My apologies to Mike and Dan and even Alferd! Thanks everyone for clearing that up..

  • Mike Wolf (Michael Wolfgang) and Dan Alexander are the same person. Mike used the name Dan Alexander while doing morning drive in Denver at KTLK and with PAMS Jingles. He recorded not only that song but was known as Mike Wolf at the Rock of Chicago, Music Radio WLS in the 1980's. He has worked for ESPN in Chicago and returned to news/talk WLS in 1998 where he worked until 2008 as Production Director.

  • I rememeber this song, poem from denver radio tooo... great to hear it again after all this time.

  • This is a great memory. It got a lot of airplay in Denver in either late '74 and early '75 or maybe it was late '75. I don't recall exactly. Wintertime tho.

    Anybody remember when?

Was this ever released on vinyl?

Would love to find it if it was.

  • He IS Dan Alexander! That was the radio name used in the 70's.....aka Mike Wolf and now you know the real name of Denver's best DJ at the "Double K's"!

  • Michael "Boy Are You Weird" Wolfgang in Chicago, you may have put the video together, but you did not record the audio.

That was done in the 70s by Dan Alexander, a popular DJ on KTLK 1280 AM.

Please give credit where credit is due.

Google it and you'll see. I have cassette tapes full of that diddy from KTLK.

    Nice video, though! :)
