  • What is this vary-cap doing? Is it hooked up to a radio with a auto tune? That is an old critter. Pretty cool though. The last time I had one of those was in an old ham radio I built out of junk in the 70s. Life got much easier with the PLLs but not as cool.

  • @lixbeyond google parallel plate capacitor, you'll find that C= (permittivity.Area )/distance

    When the plates rotate, they change A, and therefor change capacitance
