  • No I found it eventually - you need to have PPT 2010. You can insert ANY video format permanently into PPT, no linked in your folder etc.

  • @tieyouupnow Yeah, that would've been my next thought. Good luck with your presentation.

  • This is inserting a movie not embedding. 'Insert' links to file on your desktop and 'embed' embeds the movie into the actual PPT.

I need some-one to tell me how to 'embed' in PPT 2008 MAC.

  • @tieyouupnow so I think what you are asking is, how to simply play a YouTube clip in your PPT presentation without downloading the clip, converting it and saving it on your computer, is that right? If so, then I don't have the answer... Because YouTube videos are in a Flash format. Hence the conversion to be played on a mac. You might want to try Prezi.com for a different presentation experience.

  • If you're interested go to office.microsoft com and in the search area "embed video in Powerpoint: "You can embed a video or link to a video from your PowerPoint presentation. When you embed your video, you don't have to worry about lost files when you deliver your presentation because all the files are there. If you want to limit the size of your presentation, you can link to a video file on your local drive or to a video file that you uploaded to a web site, such as YouTube or hulu"

  • Thank you sOOooOOo for this video post. Very helpful in less than 4 minutes compared to my unsuccessful 40 minute attempts!
