Julie Bolton is an oncology nurse at Lancaster General Health's Infusion Center. Her mother was a nurse and was Julie's inspiration for becoming a nurse herself. She watched her mother interact with patients and looked up to her as a role model. She did not intend to become an oncology nurse after completing nursing school because she had a perception that it would be too depressing for her. But, when a job opportunity presented itself at Lancaster General Health on the oncology floor, she took it. She is still there fourteen years later and loves what she does because each day, she knows she's making a difference in the lives of her patients.

Linda Backof is one of these patients that Julie cares for at the Infusion Center. Linda has been receiving treatments for 6 primary cancers -uterine, ovarian, melanoma, rectal, thyroid, breast, and now metastatic breast cancer.

Julie is hopeful because she is seeing patients who are able to live longer and healthier lives after a cancer diagnosis. She says that "we're making strides in this disease."
